Penn’s Identity & Access Management (IAM) program is implementing a modern IAM system, providing Penn’s users with simplified, secure access to the University’s vast array of electronic resources and services. The IAM team works collaboratively with representatives from the Schools and Centers to envision, design, implement, and operate modern, enterprise-class IAM policies, procedures, and technologies. The program comprises two projects, Internal IAM and Consumer IAM (CIAM), along with one related initiative, Two-Step Verification.
To further protect PennKey credentials from theft and misuse, enrollment in Two-Step Verification was made mandatory for Faculty and Students in FY19. Two-Step reduces the pervasive risks to data and systems associated with using static, reusable passwords by a factor of 100.
