Client Support

ISC’s Client Services group is focused on supporting the Penn community, providing customer-centric Client Care, Relationship Management and Campus Services.

We have numerous programs that help the Penn IT Community stay connected, share knowledge and resources, respond to the changing conditions in IT at Penn, learn and stay current on new and emerging technologies, and better understand and support the computing needs of Penn, including IT Roundtable, TechJobs@Penn, Common Solutions Group, ITR-Research Subgroup, Super User Group, various Special Interest Groups, Lunchtime Learnings, Orientation to IT at Penn, and the annual IT Staff Convention. Our new IT Committees Portal makes it easier to locate the web presence for many major committees around campus.

HireIT provides high-quality IT support services to ensure the availability of computing resources used by members of the University community on a daily basis. HireIT offers a choice of service tiers to provide options for clients. Fees are FTE-based and include remote and dispatch services.

The Tech Center is a joint ISC/Libraries resource in Van Pelt, providing a central location for students to seek support while they’re on campus. The seminar room in the Tech Center has become the de facto location for “office hours,” connecting the community with ISC subject matter experts on such topics as O365, Apptio, Two-Step Verification, and more.

In partnership with IT and HR staff across Penn, we developed the Penn IT Academy. The Academy is designed to promote individual career and professional development for all Penn IT staff by offering a consistent and comprehensive set of self-paced training programs across a variety of core and technical competencies.

Lynda.com is an online training library that provides access to tutorials covering a wide selection of topics. Course offerings include software products widely used on campus such as the Microsoft Office suite, Google Analytics, and Drupal, as well as topics to enhance key business skills such as project management, marketing, and collaboration.  Over the past year, nearly 12,000 people across campus viewed nearly 189,000 videos.
